A beautiful gem, a stone’s throw from the beach front in Hove.

A spectacular Georgian terrace family home, fully restored and renovated to its former glory and ready for this family’s second home. A place to feel inspired, relax, and reinvigorate before returning to London.

Stepping into the open plan lounge and hallway, your eye is immediately drawn upwards to the fully papered ceiling, in a floral design of green and blue hues. This palette carries through to the walls in rich, warming blues, earthy sumptuous velvets, and playful prints. A cosy upholstered window seat celebrates the home’s period curved windows, framed by floor-to-ceiling curtains, while a fully bespoke bookcase wall includes doors to conceal the TV.

The hallway leads to a bold study at the end of the corridor, the perfect place to make even the dullest work feel inspiring.

We worked with craftsman such as Alfred Newall for the english oak bobbin console, bookshelves and desk, and woodwork artist Josh page for bespoke mirrors and stools throughout.

Formerly a very dark lower ground floor is now opened up, with incredible hand-crafted wavy spindles guiding you into the open plan dining and kitchen area. Now bright and fresh, it’s grounded by rich, earthy tones and creamy walls. A custom upholstered banquette with striped ticking is a gentle nod to the surroundings, with restored vintage pieces and lighting creating a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of points of personality and interest.

A fully bespoke and hand-crafted kitchen, along with a reworked layout, makes the discovery of this floor genuinely exciting. Through to the utility rooms and cloakroom toilet, hidden behind beautiful stained glass doors, there are elements of the unexpected in even the smallest of spaces.

The principle bedroom is another sumptuous colour palette, with a custom upholstered bed and over-sized headboard, a playful use of proportions in an otherwise sophisticated room. This leads to a fully renovated en-suite, complete with a steam/sauna: truly luxurious, and adorned in zellige tiles, hand-crafted and vintage pieces.

The family bathroom is a calming palette, and this small space is filled with personality. The teenage kids bedrooms have also been designed to feel both relaxing and inspiring — sophisticated enough for years to come, yet balanced with elements of playfulness and joy.

Finally, the snug on the top floor is the perfect hide-away for movies, reading, computer games, or just pondering at the sky. A cosy palette of inky blues, pin striped fabric, and plush velvets is inspired by old school cinemas at the British sea-side.
